14 AUG 2023 Called to Order at 19:00 by President Michael Kilmurray
SECRETARY’S REPORT– Leanna Morgan read the minutes from previous meeting. Motion was made to accept and approve. 1st DickWeston 2nd Ed Klopf Approved by all.
TREASURER’S REPORT– Carol Leigh presented account status and list of bills for payment.Motion made to pay the bills, accept and approve accounts. 1st Leanna Morgan 2ndDick Weston. Approved by all.
CHIEF’S REPORT– Fire Chief Dick Weston reported 2 mutual aid calls to Brooktondale. 33 Y-T-D
Oct. 11- Hose Testing in Varna. Training on Sunday from 9-12.
LDH hose donated by Berkshire. Varna has donated some 2.5” hose, also. Thank you!
TRAINING- Rick Morgan was the only member to attend the recent training in Candor and in Brooktondale. Next training will be in Varna on Wed. Sept 13 at 6:30-9:30 pm. Check the whiteboard for more details.
COMMITTEES:
Horseshoe League Picnic bid has been sent.
COMMUNICATIONS– Letter was received from Homeland Security and Emergency Services with an invitation to the Firefighter Memorial at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center on Oct. 10.
APPLICATIONS of NEW MEMBERS– None
UNFINISHED BUSINESS- Mike thanked to Joe and Lori for helping to clean the ball park pavilion. Also, thanks to Ed, Bobby, Dave and Rick for putting Tanker 1721 back in service.
NEW BUSINESS– Carol has figured the cost for our new truck. We will need to cash in many of our CD accounts to pay for the chassis, within 30 days of delivery. We will be seeking a loan from the State of New York, payable over 20 years. Mike and Carol are working on seeking a grant to help reduce our costs. We will also submit an increase to our Annual Budget. Motion was made to have the Board of Directors make a resolution to accept the request to purchase a new tanker. 1st Ed Klopf 2nd Rick Morgan Approved by all. Pres. Kilmurray will schedule a meeting of the Board of Directors.
