Regular Meeting, October 14, 2024 – minutes recorded by Joe Wiiki

Regular Meeting was called to order at 19:02 by President Michael Kilmurray

Secretary’s Report
Michael Kilmurray read the September 2024 meeting minutes. The minutes from the
previous meeting were then corrected and approved. 1st – Jim Leigh, 2nd – Bobby
Spencer, approved by all.

Treasurer’s Report
Carol Leigh reviewed the status of all accounts and submitted copies of accounts for the
secretary’s records. All bills were paid as approved at the September 2024 meeting.
Current bills were reviewed. Motion to pay the bills – 1st Bobby Spencer, 2nd – Jim
Leigh, approved by all.

Chief’s Report
Bobby Spencer Reported 5 EMS calls, 26 total calls to date.
-The Solar Panel Fields to be built are still in discussion with the Town of Caroline.
-The Solar Panel company has offered SVFC a training session after completion of the
panel field .

Committees
Truck Committee – The State Grant for the purchase of the new truck was not approved.

Communications – NONE

New Applications – NONE

Old Business = Building Key Situation still on hold.
Carol Leigh will speak to Charlie Thayer
about pavilion door fix. Mark Beebe donated his electrical company’s bill, Carol Leigh
stated that the State Fire Company Banquet Check has not been received and
suggested that the annual banquet be moved to the Spring.

New Business
– Carol will be calling about having the lawn mower serviced.
– Trunk-or-Treat in the park = Bobby will take a fire truck to the park, Carol will purchase
candy and Mike will hand out the candy. Aaron DeBolt suggested having “something” at
the top of “Beebe’s Hill” entering Speedsville to alert/warn drivers.
– Carol purchased new MicroSoft software for the SVFC computers.
– The “possible” Bluegrass Festival Event has been put on hold at the present time.
– The remaining clean out of the Pavilion is still to be done.
