Regular Meeting was called to order at 19:02pm by President Michael Kilmurray
Secretary’s Report
Michael Kilmurray read the December 2024 meeting minutes. The minutes from the
previous meeting were then corrected and approved. 1st – Ed Klopf, 2nd – Zeb
Patterson, approved by all.
Treasurer’s Report
Carol Leigh reviewed the status of all accounts and submitted copies of accounts for the
secretary’s records. All bills were paid as approved at the November 2024 meeting.
Current bills were reviewed. Motion to pay the bills – 1st Ed Klopf, 2nd – Zeb Patterson,
approved by all.
Chief’s Report
-Ed Klopf Reported 3 EMS calls, 2 Fire Calls since last months’ meeting.
-Year-To-Date = 1 call.
-The Solar Panel Fields to be built are still in discussion with the Town of Caroline.
-Possible courses for BFO training to be done soon at Maine Fire Department
-Possible Fire Police Training being offered in February
-1701 has a back panel oil pressure gauge that needs to be fixed
-Caskey’s Garage states they have a “left-over” SVFC part at their shop that Ed Klopf
will check on
-Annual Refresher OSHA Courses will be held at Slaterville Feb. 15th & 16th and at
Brooktondale in Two Parts: Feb. 24th, Mar. 3rd, & Mar. 24th
-HarRob has nozzles for sale that Ed will confirm pricing
-Ed Klopf presented pricing he received from Peterbilt Trucks
Committees
-Truck Committee: Ed Kolpf reported on the status of the truck after the John Harris
meeting. Concerns were brought up on the tank.
-BBQ Committee: Annual Spring BBQ to be on the first Saturday of April 5th.
Communications
-SVFC received a Christmas Card from Fairbanks Towing.
-“SAM” application has announced that there is a $600 fee.
-The Firemen’s/EMS Training Show/Conference at Turning Stone is on March 27th-29th.
-Dryden Fiber Company contacted Mike Kilmurray to request permission to place their
“Connection Hub” for the Town Of Caroline at the SVFC Station. Electric hook-up to be
clarified and discussed further.
-Ed Klopf reported on a Town Of Caroline Board meeting regarding the future “Tavelli”
Solar Farm being discussed and a new subdivision being proposed on Blackman Hill.
New Applications
-Chief submitted the police report and application for Suzi DeSanti. Everything was in
order, all present members approved and voted the applicant into membership with the
standard six-month probationary period.
Old Business
-Carol Leigh has obtained 2 hand washing stations for the SVFC.
-Mark Beebe from J&S Electric completed the generator maintenance.
New Business
– IT-245 forms for the Firemen Tax Credit are on-line.
-Request for new automatic garage door openers.
-Concerns on the rubber on the garage doors.
-Computer on the Chief’s Desk needs to be updated/replaced
