Witmer requesting a copy of our signed contract with the Town of Caroline.

Lori Staba wanted to make sure members were aware of the December 2022 Berkshire Town
Newsletter, specifically, page 3. The Berkshire Fire Company is forming a Certified 1st Responder
unit.
Committees
Truck Replacement – working on it with vendors, etc.; the grant application process is on hold
until more decisions are made. The grant will require statistics on the fire protection district, #
of calls, square mileage, population, etc. Source of this data might be a combination of the
town, county, Justin Vann, or all.
Maple Weekend Breakfast – March 18-19, 2023. Carol suggests we add sausage gravy and
biscuits to the selection at the breakfast.
MEETING MINUTES
New Applications
No new member applications. Several applications have been handed out and not returned yet.
There is a potential member who is interested in transferring from Berkshire to Speedsville.
Old Business
None
New Business
Dick Weston was able to use the laundry equipment and special soap at the Berkshire Fire
station to clean his fire turnout gear. He made a personal donation to Berkshire. Mike Simmons,
Berkshire Chief, said SVFC is welcome to use as needed. Fire turnout gear requires special
laundering. Dick suggests we make a donation ($15/gear set??) to Berkshire when we use this.
If this arrangement gets set up, members should work with our chiefs directly to get gear
laundered. Dick will talk over the $15 amount with Mike (and by extension the Berkshire
members). Tabled until this discussion happens. Members were in general agreement with
Dick, if Berkshire agrees.
Adjournment at 20:10
