MEETING MINUTES
Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by President Michael Kilmurray
Secretary’s Report
February meeting minutes were approved as read. (1stMike Kilmurray, 2ndDick Weston)
Treasurer’s Report
Carol Leigh reviewed the status of all accounts. She reported that all bills were paid as directed at the Februarymeeting. Current bills were reviewed and motion to pay bills approved by all. (1stEd Klopf, 2ndLori Staba)
Chief’s Report
Dick Weston reported 2 calls since the last meeting. 1 EMS call, 1 service call due to wires down. There are 4 chiefsradios and 1 fire police radio that need to be reprogrammed with paging in the “A” channel. Members are encouraged to participate in Tuesday trainings – need to get the trucks out. OSHA Training in Slaterville (6 hours) to be held April 9. Ed Klopf and Dick Weston attended Tier III Management Training at Tompkins County. Some members have outdated turnout gear. Dick Weston will make a list of what has been assigned, its condition, and what is needed. Before it is ordered we need to clear that expenditure with the Board of Directors.Motion to approve chief’s report passed (1st Mike Kilmurray, 2nd Ed Klopf)
Communications
Town of Caroline Zoning meetings to be held in Speedsville (3/19), Slaterville (3/26), Brooktondale (4/2).
Committees
Fundraising (Carol Leigh) – Pancake breakfast at the station 3/19-20. Work bee Wed. 3/16 at 6pm. Volunteers arrive at 7:15am on breakfast days. Carol asked interested members to take the food service course offered through Tioga County. She has the details.
Spring Chicken BBQ scheduled for 4/2. They will cook 175 halves, $9/each. Advertising on the sign, in local print weeklies and on Haefele’s community bulletin board channel.
New Applications
Lindsey Thibodeau submitted an application for social membership. Application was approved (1st Lori Staba, 2nd Dick Weston.
Old Business
There was a brief discussion to clarify the eligibility of members qualifying for Cancer Insurance.
New Business
There was a discussion to move $15,000 from savings to a CD, and $5,000 to be used toward uniforms and gear. (1st Dave Bean, 2nd Bobby Spencer).
There is a need to renew the Blue Devil software used for state reporting at a cost of $500. Approved (1st Mike Kilmurray, 2nd Dick Weston)
SVFC has received 14 Covid test kits and 100 KN95 masks from the county.
