Call to Order
Meeting was called to order at 7:12pm by President Michael Kilmurray
Secretary’s Report
Lori Staba read December 2023 meeting minutes. The minutes from the previous meeting were
approved as corrected. (1st Bobby Spencer, 2nd Chuck Morse)

Treasurer’s Report
Carol Leigh reviewed the status of all accounts. All bills were paid as approved at the December
2023 meeting. Current bills were reviewed. Motion to pay bills (1st Bobby Spencer, 2nd Joe
Wiiki) approved by all.
Carol recommended that we open a Visions CD with the grant received from Tioga
Downs. To open a new CD, she must open a savings account for, with the balance for the CD. Mike and Carol have an appointment at Visions to set this up with two signatures.

ADDENDUM TO THIS DISCUSSION: On Friday, 1/13/24 Mike Kilmurray shared this email with members:
“As agreed on in January’s meeting …, we will be starting a new account at Visions. In trying to
open the account we had to have meeting minutes listing controlling personnel. I would like
Carol’s and my name for starters. Can I get your approval?”
The following 10 members approved Carol and Mike as signators on the new Visions account via
email: Morgans (Rick and Leanne) Kilmurray, Klopf, Leighs (Carol and Jim), Debolt, Wiiki, Williams, Bean, Staba, Spencer

Chief’s Report
Bobby Spencer reported 1 EMS and 1 mutual aid call since the last meeting. There were 37 calls
in 2023.
Federal Safety will be inspecting/maintaining the fire hydrants located in the fire station and on
the trucks. It was suggested that the extinguishers at the ball park be part of this.
BEFO (Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations) training is being offered in Tompkins County
February-April.

Committees
Grant Committee – Mike reported that the grant writer we have hired is working on the federal
grant application (AFG – Assistance to Firefighters Grants). There is a NYS grant program; Mike
suggests we prepare that application ourselves.

Communications
Miscellaneous information on upcoming events and training shared.
