Regular Meeting, February 10, 2025 – minutes recorded by Joe Wiiki
Regular Meeting was called to order at 19:09 by President Michael Kilmurray
Secretary’s Report
Joe Wiiki read the January 2025 meeting minutes. The minutes from the previous
meeting were then corrected and approved. 1st – Ed Klopf, 2nd – Zeb Patterson,
approved by all.
Treasurer’s Report
Carol Leigh reviewed the status of all accounts and submitted copies of accounts for the
secretary’s records. All bills were paid as approved at the January 2025 meeting.
Current bills were reviewed. Motion to pay the bills and to transfer $5,000 to the
checking account to cover the existing and the upcoming bills- 1st – Ed Klopf, 2nd – Zeb
Patterson, approved by all.
Chief’s Report
Ed Klopf Reported 6 EMS calls and 3 Fire Calls since the last meeting.
10 total calls to date.
-1701 has a back panel oil pressure gauge needs to be fixed
-Ed Klopf to check on Caskey’s Garage states they have a “left-over” SVFC part
-Truck Pumps to be done at a later date
-Zeb Patterson has started the Broome County BFO Training in Endwell
-Chris Luczek, Jr. has started the Tioga County BFO Training in Owego
Committees
-Truck Committee = No Update
-Pancake Breakfast work assignments for the volunteers were sent out
-Pancake Breakfast is on March 22nd & 23rd – Zeb Patterson offered to obtain the 50
dozen eggs, 7 gallons of orange juice, plus purchase the 30 lbs. of sausage.
-Chicken BBQ for April 5th, 2025 = 7 bags of charcoal at pavilion, reducing order to 140
chicken halves
Communications
-Ed KLopf reported that NYSEG has offered a repeat of presenting $1,000 to the fire
company to train our members (This offers was extended to other fire companies last
time; examples: Weltonville and Slaterville)
-NAFPA communicated a request to for the fire chief to fill out a survey for certain
information
-Cardiac Life sent an offer of replacing our AED unit at a price of $1,175. It was decided
that our existing unit is ok at this time and that a second unit should be purchased using
the $1,175 offer.
-Ed Klopf is considering taking the refresher EMT course offered at the Ithaca Airport
New Applications
-Ed Klopf submitted an application for Aric Ryan who has a extensive background in
community and fire activities
-Mike Kilmurray nominated Bernie Williams to be a SVFC Life Member and to receive a
award at the next SVFC Banquet
Old Business
-Baker Garage Doors has been scheduled to estimate fixing door openers and seal
-Lindsey Spencer’s recommendation was to purchase a laptop to replace the computer
on the Chief’s desk.
New Business
-ESIP Online Training: Sexual Harassment And Blood Pathogens
